Reconcile New Orleans Announces New Board Members:
Chassidy Carter, Danielle Garrett, Cherrian Levy & Avis Williams Ed.D.
October 6, 2023, NEW ORLEANS – Reconcile New Orleans has announced the addition of three new members to its Board of Directors – Chassidy Carter, Danielle Garrett, Cherrian Levy, and Avis Williams, Ed.D.
Chassidy Carter is a student at Delgado Community College pursuing an associate degree in Culinary Arts. She is a recent graduate of Nunez Community College where she obtained her certificate in Technical Studies-Culinary Arts.
She is passionate about food, people, and perfecting her craft. As the Chair of Reconcile’s Alumni Advisory Council, Carter collaborates with a group of young, talented New Orleanians who serve as advisers and ambassadors to Reconcile New Orleans.
Danielle Garrett serves as the Director of People and Culture at Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences of New Orleans. She has a passion for connecting with the community, serving as a youth counselor at New Hope Baptist Church and serving as the face of community outreach efforts in her Human Resources roles. She is a graduate of Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA.
Cherrian Levy, of Levy Realty Group, is an award-winning real estate broker, investor, and advocate, who boasts a stellar record, having sold over $70 million in real estate. A native New Orleanian and a proud graduate of Xavier University of Louisiana, Levy’s local roots run deep, giving her an unmatched grasp of the real estate market.
She passionately champions newcomers to real estate, offering mentorship and guidance for success. As a real estate investor coach, she empowers others to achieve financial freedom and build their portfolios through her DEED Academy.
Levy’s dedication, community involvement, and real estate expertise make her a trusted broker, investor, mentor, and speaker, showcasing that success in real estate is attainable.
Avis Williams Ed.D. serves as superintendent of New Orleans Public Schools, the first woman permanently appointed to this role. Dr. Williams’ core values of equity, excellence and joy drive her pursuit of innovation and organizational culture and climate. She is an award-winning educator and sought-after public speaker.
Prior to her appointment to lead New Orleans Public Schools, Dr. Williams served as superintendent of Historic Selma City Schools in Selma, AL for five years where she championed equity by prioritizing mental health and establishing a Social Justice Academy.
Dr. Williams served four years in the Army then earned her undergraduate degree from Athens State University. She went on to earn master’s degrees from Alabama A&M and Jacksonville State Universities, and an education specialist degree and doctorate from the University of Alabama.

About Reconcile New Orleans
Reconcile New Orleans has supported more than 2,000 young people since opening in 2000. The program aims to support 120 new Interns each year — young people ages 16-24 who seek employment and educational opportunities or both. Reconcile’s free, earn and learn Workforce Development Program focuses on a holistic, person-centered model, addressing barriers to success, such as homelessness and untreated trauma, while teaching culinary and professional skills necessary to gain and sustain employment in hospitality or other industry pathways.
