NATIONAL SOCIAL WORK MONTH
March is National Social Worker Month, a time to honor the countless contributions social workers make in our communities every day. This year's theme is "Empowering Social Workers," and what better way to recognize this than by spotlighting our dedicated team of social workers' positive contributions, inspiring actions, and leadership at Reconcile New Orleans.
Our social workers are essential to our program, helping young people build a plan towards their personal and professional ambitions and addressing barriers that have stood in the way of them achieving their success. Our dedicated team of mental health professionals work tirelessly alongside our interns to break down barriers that often stand in the way of success. They help address challenges such as mental health concerns, housing instability, food insecurity, and personal development obstacles—issues that, when left unchecked, could hinder a young person’s path to a bright future.
Reconcile’s social work team is a united force, collaborating closely with our Interns and guiding them through the various stages of their training experience. They collaborate closely with our interns, guiding them through the various stages of their journey. They provide individualized support to fit each unique need and connect Interns with essential services and resources. This collaborative approach, driven by a shared mission, empowers young adults to realize their full potential and advocates for their basic rights as young adults.
During National Social Worker Month, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to our social workers: Chief Program Officer Monique Robinson, Case Management Specialists Lanesa Barabino-Robinson and Taylor Reinhart, Alumni Engagement and Employment Services Specialist John Perkins, and Case Specialist Robin Gray.
Their commitment to social change and the positive impact they've made on the young adults enrolled in our program is immeasurable. Their expertise, compassion, and dedication are the driving forces behind our program's success, often working miracles in the lives of those they serve. Together, let’s celebrate and acknowledge the significant strides made possible by our passionate social workers.
