MILESTONE MOMENT
RECONCILE NEW ORLEANS ADMITS LARGEST COHORT OF INTERNS
This Summer Reconcile New Orleans welcomed the largest cohort of future young professionals this year. The Summer 2024 cohort marks the largest group of Interns to join Reconcile's earn-and-learn workforce development program this year. This July more than 70 Interns are training at Reconcile. These Interns engage in workshops, explore diverse career paths, and hone their job readiness skills at Café Reconcile, the program's learning lab.
“What sets our summer cohort apart is the opportunity to engage with high school students during their summer break,” said Kheri Billy, Reconcile New Orleans CEO. “Summer programming allows young people, to stay connected and engaged during the school break. Over the summer, they learn valuable job readiness skills that can be applied to an after-school job and explore career pathways that help them decide what they may want to do after earning their High School diploma. When they return to school, they are enriched with new supports, skills and connection to their community.”
Reconcile’s growing number of Interns is a direct result of steadfast support from funders like the Fox Family Foundation. The Fox Family Foundation is focused on creating opportunity through workforce development, offering young people the chance to acquire essential skills. By fostering strategic alliances and pioneering programs, the foundation enables young people of all abilities to pursue education, entrepreneurship, and fulfilling careers. This funding has allowed Reconcile New Orleans to boost its annual youth enrollment and broaden its collaborative efforts.
"These young people represent local talent who will soon enter the workforce and our local economy," added Billy. "As one of our community's preeminent workforce development programs for young people, we are proud to help educate and empower the next generation of well-prepared young professionals. Alongside our donors and partners, we open doors to opportunity by launching careers or making connections to education."
Reconcile New Orleans has been helping young people aged 16-24 achieve their dreams through its workforce development program for nearly three decades.
